1 Year Reclaiming Abandoned Land - Squatters Ruined this Acre!
Переглядів 143 тис.Місяць тому
I've been calling this Year Zero because while we have lived out here for a year, with no water for the first 5 months, poison oak everywhere and no fencing to keep the deer out, it was nearly impossible to garden. We also knew the property had been used intermittently by squatters for a long time. My focus was on keeping my family safe, and preparing the land for the years to come. In no parti...

Beautiful design. Love it.
Looks great, but it's gonna be a devil to clean when the algae sets in to the water reservoir under those heavy rocks.
How many gph is the pump? How many mil liner? 45?
Nicely done
left so much out of the video
🍷👌🏾❤️🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful.
Found this by chance and stayed glued til the end. Amazing! I subscribed. Looking forward to being part of your amazing journey. Thank you. All the best from British Columbia, Canada
Thanks for being here! My video last weekend introduced my Goats to the Homestead :)
With those prices, it would be an easy recommend if I had any need. Hope this takes off.
Cool! I hope this takes off for you !
Next time just spray paint the foam... Just a suggestion... Amazing Job!!!❤
Excellent Well done. Still researching will check the site. thx.
Love it! ❤
How cool and inspiring
GL
You are all hard workers, I am excited to follow you along in your journey. Just a little FYI I have noticed that some of the best homesteaders that put out video's, have the best subscribers when their videos are released on odd days. Some put out on the same day, I love beginning of the week or mid week video's. Best of luck.
Hard work is so rewarding ❤ much respect to you and your family.
Love the posts with the branch stumps. The way to keep the poles from rotting in the ground is to burn them.
Hey, congratulations on the new venture! I hope you have success with it. I am in need of something that I’m hoping you could help me with. Is your software you use for the designs capable of drawing your square concrete water feature and doing so in color and be viewable in 3D? If so, I would like to talk to you about getting some designs made.
Primarily I use photoshop. Which for sure can be used to make blueprints of my square fountain for measurements, colors, and whatnot. As for 3D I could probably do some kind of mock up on another software I've used before. What do you need the 3D for?
I want to be able to create images of some different design’s similar to your design and be able to view it from different angles. I don’t have to be able to move or change the angle in real time or anything. I just need to be able to show the designs from various angles so people can understand better what exactly they are looking at. I don’t need actual photo quality either. Just color renditions of the designs should be good enough. Does that make sense?
What do you need the renders for?
I already build water features for people as well as some other things and I’m thinking about adding various concrete water features to what I do and creating a website or online presence for this. So it would be very helpful if I could have something that people can see that maybe helps them understand what these water features are going to be like. I haven’t started building them yet or I would simply take some pictures and video clips. I just thought that initially this might make it easier for people to understand and visualize what they are and how they’ll work.
Wow! What progress and I have to say, your bairns are the cutest wee people I have seen in a long while. And, they are hard wee workers too. Watching the eldest girl help you make the paths, placing the rock and giving it a kick to fix it in. I'll be on the look out for your channel now. Well done Travis, your wife and your gorgeous children. ❤✌👍🙏👱♀👱♀🏡🚜🛻🕰
You are living the dream! I only wish I was younger, I'd be right there also. I cringe at the sound of Poisin Oak!! I am so alergic I don't have to even touch it!! Misserable stuff!
Your work's great, but I'm sure you are not gonna take a project from Norfolk / UK🤗 Lots of love to you and your beautiful family.
If you’re just looking for a landscape design it doesn’t matter where you’re located. 🫡
Wow! Morel mushrooms are going for around $ 25.00 a pound in Indiana, and they are so delicious. Love your videos.
What a great idea! I shared this video out on my Facebook.
Awesome! Thank you!
NEVER bring an unleashed dog to someone else's property! Even if it's super well-behaved and trained. First, you can never be sure of how the dog will react in a new environment. Secondly, don't put animals that aren't used to free walking dogs throughout that stress. Third: courtesy towards the property owners. Show some manners and respect.
My dog, my property.
Next time, don't skimp on security. Hire whoever you need to hire to check out wells, septi systems, and soundness of structure before you buy the property.
You are a very hard working man. Great job
Well done. Great combination of both elements also really glad you made it a family project so everyone could fully enjoy and appreciate the end result.
Bravo!! You out did yourself spectacular!
Travis this isn’t a fountain, it’s a waterfall. For a non expert I’m amazed! You should be in water garden business charging thousands for this type installation. I’m a designer! It’s gorgeous.
How do you clean it?
Miss this place ❤
When seated at the table, is there any odor from the propane?
Nooice! 😎 STOC
The finished room looks amazing. I did wonder is the floor will be cold as it looks like it is open underneath on all sides.
ok, I am addicted now.......gonna marathon watch you ........ can't wait to see what you create
amazing content...love watching you and your family...... lovely project, watching you from Zone 4 Central Canada...
Great job.
First time seeing your videos……I’m in just far enough to have seen the needles on the floor of the trailer 😞🤦♀️🤮 At that point…..probably even before……I would have chickened out and just used it as a garbage bin for cleaning up the rest of the property and had the whole thing hauled away! 🤢😂🤪 But you are doing a great job! Good luck and Be safe…… Just finished watching the whole video……very well done. I enjoyed it. I subscribed and shared it with all my other “old” friends. Some of us remember living this way as children 😂
You would get more out of the property if you stair step it into plateaus. Although you might have to remove some trees, because you said you would like to grow all of your food. If you’re interested in doing something like that there’s a guy in Vietnam that grows everything but he doesn’t till the ground. He actually grows feed corn on a steep hill.
Cool idea like to see it lit up, maybe you could use some large stones on the bottom where the water hits, not wood it's kinda tacky.
Awesome video enjoyed it very much. 👍 Nice to see your hard work paying off. Wish you and your family lots of love and happiness. 🙏
I get the desire to move on from tragedy. By now you have. As an urban designer & someone who is interested in how to recover from community level tragedies, hearing about the challenges with bureaucracy is actually valuable for people like myself & those who are supposed to assist in recovery. Thank you for sharing what you did-it’s personal, regardless of the answers & red tape “that’s not personal”!
Those syringes were clearly for a diabetic. The blood sugar test strips were laying right next to them.
Great job, I'm really enjoying the journey you're on. God Bless
😅😅😅 his dog is sitting behind him and points his head to where the guy starts talking about and pointing to! Hilarious! He hears the guy and knows what he's referring to! Amazing what dogs understand that I didn't know they understood!🙏✝️❤️ Like our language!🙄🙏✝️❤️❤️❤️
